We contracted with White Castle to replace our roof, 4 skylights, and a powered attic vent fan that were damage by a hail storm in May 2016. They did the work in early March 2017. Unfortunately, they replaced one of the skylights with the wrong kind and, there was damage to the ceiling drywall from the installation of the skylights that needed repair. Further, they did not lay down any cover or tarp in the rooms where the skylights were replaced. When I got home, there was significant debris of nails, drywall, shingle pieces, underlayment pieces, wood chips, and dirt on the bed, dresser, behind the dressers, hallway, bathroom, the deck, the driveway, pretty much everywhere. Especially disconcerting was the number of nails that I had to pick up. I thought that they use a magnet roller to recover the nails. If they did this, they obviously did a poor job. I am not exaggerating...there was a lot of debris and I had to spend several hours cleaning up the mess. They agreed to replace the one skylight with the right kind. March and April passed without any action. I had called x 2 to get a date when they would be out. I was given one date in late April and they didn't show up or call. A week later, Matt called to say he was sorry he missed last time but could come out that Saturday to do the work. Again, he was a no-show and no call. I had had enough and called White Castle asking to speak with a supervisor. I was told someone would call me back. Three days later, no call back received. I called again requesting to speak with a supervisor and again, three days later no call back. My wife had stopped at their office to tell them that the job is not finished and she wanted to know when they would be at the house. A few weeks went by and no response from White Castle. I finally went to their office and requested that I speak with a supervisor about his issue. I was escorted and introduced to Mike Hansen, the owner of White Castle. I relayed my story to him. He immediately got on the phone and called Matt wanting to know why the projected had not been completed. After a brief conversation with Matt, I was told that he would be at my house with the replacement skylight that afternoon. Matt and his crew did come that afternoon and replaced the skylight and repaired another area of the roof that was poorly done. They left without letting me know the job was done. Again, shingle nails everywhere on the deck and driveway. They obviously left without picking up. When Matt was here, he told me that another person would contact me to set up a time to repair the drywall around the skylight. So now it is early June, another month has gone by and nobody has been back to repair the drywall. I am writing this review because I am upset that it has been 3 months since White Castle was first here and repairs are still not complete. Their website says that if there is ever an issue with the work, call them and they will take care of it "immediately". REALLY! I just received a "Thank You" note from White Castle. It says that they take pride in their work and if we have any additional questions or needs, just give them a call and they would be happy to help. Yeah, right! Obviously, they are blowing off finishing the drywall work. I have co-workers that also had hail damage and roof, window, and siding replacement. I asked each of them to discretely ask their roofing company if they would be responsible and repair any drywall damage like we had. Without exception, each of them reported to me that they were told yes, the roofing company would repair that damage, no questions asked. We obviously picked the wrong roofing company for the job. Given all the lack of interest by White Castle to live up to their claimed reputation of customer care and their lack of response on a timely basis to our inquiries and needs, I cannot recommend this company.
Prompt and friendly initial contact, worked with a personable chap in Grand Island [Jarod!]. He took a look at the house and the damage, set up an in-office consultation, we worked over materials and in about an hour, had an invoice and a date for a new roof. Installation started bright and early on the agreed day and before sundown, new roof! Very price worthy, great work, nearly flawless clean-up and even had a follow-up call from Jarod to make sure I was pleased with his product a couple three weeks after completion. Called back a month later and set up another job for my gutters - all the work looks great and I'm very pleased with the pricing, quality and workmanship.
