This school is great... if you're a fan of technology. Me? It's half-and-half. I always liked learning by the book, and I know times are changing, but couldn't someone at least offer one book, and a test on paper? Academics are great, though like I expressed already, they're all through technology. The athletics and music program are also very top notch. For some it is a dream school. However, like every school, there is drama, and cliques, etc.. It all kind of depends on who you hang out with that determines part of your high school life here, and part of your success.

More typical children also seem to do extremely well here . I've heard more good things about Northwest than I have any other public school.
Their freshman academy is something I've heard a great deal about. We look forward to it this year, as we came in late in the year last year and missed participating in it.
On the other hand, the staff is more than great! They are all such wonderful and encouraging people to be around! They do a great job keeping up with what is happening. I even got myself a t-shirt!
My daughter has dance recital at Northwest High School. The building is clean and well kept.
The only issue is one I have with ALL public schools locally; they allow late work to be turned in, and aren't overly focused on spelling. Children are done a major disservice when their "job" for 12 years allows them to neglect deadlines with little consequence. The real world doesn't work that way. Unfortunately, their hands are tied.
This school has worked very well with me as far as trying to help my autism spectrum child succeed. They genuinely care about their kids. The music programs are far superior to most I've seen. They are willing to help me think of ideas that may help long run, both with issues in school and at home.
