The grand is a great theatre! It is an older style building and only plays movies on the weekends and other special times. The movies they play are normally just getting ready to be released on dvd/blu ray. Don't expect the latest releases here. However, the prices are great! It is mostly volunteer run and has very cheap concessions. I love the atmosphere! Tickets are limited though. If the movie is popular it's best to show up an hour before the movie to get tickets because they can sell out fast and often do. Check their website for current listings and box office times.

The overall look and feel of this theater is also fantastic. It's a very old-school art deco. Think BioShock or The Great Gatsby. Now, the only drawback with that is that certain aspects like the seating and the generally large theater itself can be out of place in today's day and age. The seats are not very comfortable (think seats at a school auditorium) and if you're sitting in the back of theater the screen is farther away than normal.

Going to the movies is a real pleasure here. If you go at odd hours you get great pricing too.

Great 1930's movie house that has been totally renovated inside and out! Best movie deal around. Two adults can see a new movie including a large popcorn, a large drink and a big box of candy for less than $20. Wonderful, friendly, all volunteer staff run as a non-profit organization.

Good prices. Good movies. Great community place. Beautiful! However you are very far from the screen which is smaller. Also the sound is very loud. Otherwise. Lovely experience. Unlike the other GI theater this has very polite guests (no phones or talking)

Those two things are minor quibbles though because the audio-visual experience here is just too good, and the prices of the tickets and concessions pretty low. Oh, and I haven't even mentioned the excellent staff who are there because they clearly love to volunteer and help rather than make money off you. Overall, it becomes clear after just one showing here why this theater has a near-perfect rating.

Hands down the best theater in Grand Island. It's got a fantastic screen whether the movie is 2D or 3D and the audio system is amazing. It's best audio system in the Tri-City area which means it can be very loud. Some may find it too loud but that's because the other theaters in this area have some very tame audio systems. Trust me, this theater shows movies the way they're meant to be seen at a theater.
